Kelsall 35 trimaran, Triple Fantasy, For Sale

Triple Fantasy, designed by Derek Kelsall ,is an excellent racing trimaran, she was built to do the Round Britain and Ireland Race which she has completed four times (1982, 1985, 1989, 2006). She has also done one OSTAR in 1988, and many cross channel Cherbourg races from the Solent.

She is an extremely safe and capable boat with all the kit for racing short handed. The current owners raced her in the 2014 season and won the MOCRA Graham Hutchings Trophy accruing the most points of any boat in the MOCRA fleet (country wide) in 6 chosen races in the 2014 season.

Recent work includes replacing the decks on both outriggers, the foredeck of the main hull, and the cockpit sole in winter 2013. Extra stiffening mini-bulkheads were added to the floats, foredeck and cockpit sole and replacing navigation instruments.

Magnum 21 Trimaran

Pictures

Details

Information from the agents website “The slim, sleek hulls of Magnum 21 trimarans enable you to reach speeds that are inconceivable in monohulls thus enabling you to visit places that otherwise you could not reach.

At just 350kg not only is this a fast boat but it is easy to manhandle and trail too. Simple to pack up and tow away to a new location, the Magnum 21 is less than 1.65m wide on the road (2.25m since introduction of new quick assembly system in 2006) because everything fits neatly inside or on top of the primary hull.

It will do 10 knots with a small engine and over 20 knots under sail. The unsinkable floats provide exemplary stability so Magnum 21 trimarans have been fitted with retractable centre-boards instead of keels. This keeps the weight down and the speed up, eases trailing and facilitates beaching of the boats. Great for impromptu beach parties with friends and family members. Not to mention taking the ground inadvertently!”

Farrier 27

Pictures

Details

Live a Little is one of Ian Farrier’s F27 folding trimarans, built in America in 1991 by Corsair Marine. She was imported into the UK by Rodney Pattison from new. She has been rigged as a Formula F 27 –i.e. bowsprit, screacher, asymmetric and fat head main. The layout is the standard F27 of rear cabin,

She had a very successful career as Kaos and Kinetic notably winning the Scottish Islands Race; still holding records for legs in this race. She was then known as Trinitay and lived on the East Coast of Scotland before coming to Devon in late 2008. Over the last five years the current owners have both cruised and raced her around the Channel and Northern France. She is still competitive, winning the MOCRA Ian Farrier Trophy in 2011 as well as various pieces of glassware in local regattas. She is easily handled and they normally sail and race with only two on board.

The inventory and records are comprehensive and the boat has been well maintained.  She is in good condition and will require only normal winter maintenance. That means minimal work required for the new owner and she is definitely not a “project boat”. The owners are trading up for larger yacht to do more offshore races.
